I’m typing this from the back deck, sitting in a camping chair with my feet dangling in the kiddie pool, which has just been refilled with water that evidently, has been tapped directly out of Lake Superior. Which, by the way, is why my entire body is not submerged in the kiddie pool.
I should also note that temperatures have reached such heights that I have voluntarily put on a bikini, or I should say, The Bikini. The Bikini that was bought two years ago when I moved up here, twenty pounds thinner. Let’s just say I pick and choose the times I wear it with great care as not to make the neighbors think whales are coming ashore.
Truth is, it’s the only bathing suit I’ve got up here right now, or that I could find, and I figure what better way to spend one’s last day of employment than to sit in the kiddie pool nearly naked reading blogs and trying not to drop the laptop into the water?
My brother e-mailed me a single sentence yesterday:
“I got an iPhone and it’s awesome!”
Which prompted me to dream all night of the iPhone. Dammit.
