I haven’t posted much about the season. Though our record is 1-4-1, we’ve made some major improvements since the first day on the ice.

We’ll be playing in the College Club Division at All-American Tournament in Blaine, MN, this weekend. Though it’s a long drive and the games are short (15 min. periods running time, ugh), it’s pretty cool to see so many girls and women playing hockey.

We also get to play a team that canceled out on us for our first home series this year. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t hope we smoke them.

Last Sunday the coach moved me from my current line to centering another line. I’m still at a loss as to why he did this, since I have never played center, and I am just starting to understand where I’m supposed to be on wing. In some ways it’s terrifying but in other ways, pretty exciting. My line isn’t being used for power plays but penalty kills, which is cool. Last year I didn’t make it out on a single penalty kill, so it’s nice to be on a special team.

I’ve also scored a goal this season, in our second game. My victory celebration was nothing short of comical and enthusiastic. The feeling is just so sweet…

If you’re interested, my good buddy G took some photos at our last few games.

  2. Sewer Rats, 11.10.07

And if you’re interested, you can see our team picture on the web site. I’m the babe on the end of the first row. ;)
