There is probably something wrong with me.

Yup, I’m signed up. Registration was over halfway filled after being open one day. I knew it was, as Scott says, a “shit or get off the pot” situation. Worst case scenario here is that I can’t find a place to stay that weekend, I can’t go, and I’m out the registration fee. I’m hoping on getting a room at one of the dormitories, because the hotel prices (for the ones that are still available) are ridiculous. I think if I call early enough I should be able to get in.

I’ve also never done a marathon by myself. Meaning, I’ve never taken the trip alone; I’ve always had a friend along for support. One of my concerns was transportation to and from the start/finish, but there are shuttles running all day.

I guess it’s crazy that my biggest concerns about this aren’t related to the running, but to logistics. However, I’m curious if I’ll be able to keep up with the training this winter/spring. Unlike most other places, we really don’t have “spring” up here. It pretty much transitions from full winter to summer. I’ve proven I can handle the training schedule in the summer. So what the heck. It will be a new challenge.

I would really like to run another fall race (Chicago? Minneapolis? NYC?). If I can pull this off, it will put me in a great position for continuing running this summer. At least that’s the plan.
