Time has a way of making us forget the gory details

I’m about to say something absolutely crazy here, and my only explanation is that having a baby has completely turned my brain into a smothered pork chop. In a tiny way, I miss the feeling of being pregnant.

Today’s moment of spontaneous crying brought to you by Baby Gap.

Most of Sophie’s clothes are new, and hanging in the closet because the 3 mo old sizes are enormous on her, even at 9 lbs. I’ve been really fortunate to get a bunch of second hand stuff from friends and folks from church, some of it barely or never worn. I know some people are [...]

Month One

I probably would have missed Sophie’s one month milestone had I not read this Twitter post. In fact, when people were asking me how old she was, I would tell them three weeks. Because it really seemed like it had only been three weeks, not four. And honestly, it hadn’t even seemed like three. How [...]

Even though it wasn’t very long [...]

So it turns out that when you have a newborn at home, blogging is the last thing you have time for. Add in a bathroom remodel at the same time grandparents are visiting and well, it’s not going to happen. I should also add that my carpal tunnel (or whatever is going on in my [...]

Isolation

I’m still here. Babies who are nine days old don’t give one much time for blogging. The DSL hookup doesn’t happen until Wednesday (ugh, AT&T), and tapping out a post on my phone? Please. I use my phone these days for keeping track of nursing and dirty diapers and Twitter, my guilty indulgence these days. [...]
